We now notify Supervisors when guards exit their worksite or claim times when away from the site. If actively working, Supervisors will receive a push notification informing them of the guard's departure. Supervisors should investigate and take action if needed.
How this new feature works:
Work Area: We've set the work area to be 1000 meters, or about 0.6 miles in radius with the scheduled location as the center point. This is a large area, however, sets can span multiple addresses and guards may legitimately move between locations. We will scale this as needed but our goal is to avoid sending inaccurate alerts.
Overlapping Geofences: If the Client has multiple locations, these geofences overlap, meaning that Workers can still be considered within the Work Area even if moved to another legitimate location. NOTE: during movement, these guards' location may be flagged as Outside Work Area. View the map from the guard's Shift details to turn on/off the geofence boundary view (circle icon in the top right corner).
Notification Send Time: 5 min after the guard has left the work area, to ensure they really have left. If the guard leaves but returns in less than 5 min, you will not receive a notification but the actions will be visible on the Activity Log of that guard's shift.
Departures Visible on Activity Log: All Work Area Entrances and Exits will be visible on the Activity Log in the guard's shift details. This includes
Location Tracking Accuracy: Guards are tracked only during active shifts, with their location being pinged every 5 minutes if stationary, or consistently if on the move.
Please reach out if you have any questions about this new feature. Please don't hesitate to give feedback.
⚠️ Verify Data Before Taking Action
During this testing phase please do not rely on the validity of these notifications. It is important to verify guard status is correct before taking action.
If you receive an alert that a guard has left the work area, but they are actually onsite, please report this product@reeltrak.com. We will work to adjust this feature to ensure it's accuracy.
These alerts are triggered after a system grace period to confirm the worker has actually left the area.
Worker on the Move (Geofence Exit): This push notification is sent to working Supervisors if a worker exits the 1,000 meter (0.6 mile) work area radius and remains outside for 5 minutes. The 5-minute delay is designed to prevent false alerts if a worker is just temporarily on the edge of the boundary or moving between overlapping geofences.
Started Outside: This is logged as an irregular time submission if a worker clocks in while outside the geofence radius. It is treated like a Geofence Exit and also triggers the 5-minute notification grace period.
Outside Work Area
This general bubble indicates the guard is outside the 1,000 meter (0.6 mile) radius of the scheduled location boundary. The pill will include additional details in either distance or time measurements:
Outside Work Area - 2 MI means the Worker is 2 miles outside the work area boundary.
Outside Work Area - 30 MIN means the Worker’s location was last know 30 min ago – we do not have location data since this time. This may occur if someone clocks in late and then claims they started their shift 30 min earlier, before tracking was active.
Action Required?
Review — Check the activity log and shift details to evaluate the context and determine if the movement is legitimate.
Clicking on the circle icon on the top left of the map on the Shift Details screen of that user reveals the established radius of the geofence (blue border and light blue fill) and any nearby client locations.
Low GPS accuracy
The GPS accuracy is worse than 100 meters (about 328 feet), typically only seen in fallback scenarios using cell towers.
Action Required?
Review — This is an informational warning but checking in with the guard is recommended.
Precise location disabled
The guard's phone settings are only providing a generalized location (within miles) instead of a precise location.
Action Required?
Yes — Guard needs to change their settings for accurate tracking.
Background location disabled
The guard turned off their location tracking after the shift started.
Action Required?
Yes — Guard needs to re-enable location tracking in their phone settings.
Only the last known location of the user may be visible on the map until the setting is turned back on.
Workers must have their app location tracking set to Always Allow and Precise Location ON. (Location tracking only occurs during active shifts.)
Turning Precise Location OFF will result in the Worker appearing miles away from their actual location.

We’ve improved app performance.
📍Geofencing Notifications (BETA)
We've improved geotracking in the Worker app, giving Supervisor users more confidence in the accuracy of the reported locations of their team members when they are on the clock. We are currently testing notifications to Supervisors when users move outside the work area.
✅ Confirmations Updates
Confirmations are now more detailed and irregular logged times are flagged for easier review. If a logged time is close to the expected time, the confirmation will have blue buttons with Confirm as the primary action. If the times deviate a lot from the expected time, the action buttons will be red with the primary action being “Reject” to emphasize that the time should be reviewed more carefully. Tapping “Reject” opens up the time editing for the Confirmation in case changes are needed. Please still continue to review all Confirmations carefully and in a timely manner to ensure proper payroll.
👮♂️ Confirm Times from Shift Details
Now, Confirmations can also be viewed on the guard’s Shift Details screen! Supervisors can see the Confirmations in the context of all the logged times of the shift and can easily reference the Activity Log at the bottom of the screen to easily see what happened when. Tap the pencil icon to edit, or the checkmark to accept the logged time. If the time is earlier or later than expected, red text will be displayed with more details as to exactly how early or late that action was taken.
🕓 Easier Time Editing
We’ve updated the time picker to make it easier to edit times. The date selector is now in a separate section so it’s harder to accidentally select the wrong date. Users can now select any time. If the selection is early or late, warning text will appear in the time picker to give feedback. If the selected time is multiple hours late, the warning text will appear as well as an alert asking the user if they are sure they want to submit the time. Now, we only restrict logged times that are more than 34 hours from the expected time or more than 5 minutes in the future. This will result in an error message so the user can adjust the time. These changes should provide greater flexibility for editing and submitting times, more feedback to the user and prevent errors.
🕓 Submitted Time Updated to the Minute
Now seconds are removed from the submitted times so durations should stop being listed as 1 minute short.
🔔 More Timely Updates
Supervisors will now receive a push notification when anyone on their team is more than 10 minutes late. All team members will now receive a notification when Post Instructions are updated by Support, other Supervisors or Clients.
Get Alerted of Past Due Team Members
We've updated push notifications to inform you when team members missed clock-ins so you can better manage your team. Tap on the alert to view who is Past Due.
🕡 Supervisors Must Log Time in Worker
Supervisors trying to log themselves in on the Supervisor app will now be redirected to clock their time in Worker. This is to ensure team visibility and safety since location tracking only occurs in the Worker app.
If a Supervisor tries to log in on Worker, a modal will pop up.
Tap on open App
This opens the app store. If you have Worker downloaded already, select Open. Otherwise, download the app.
Continue to your shift and clock in.
🌜Overnight Shifts Now More Visible on Locations!
Now shifts that start on one day and rollover to the next are clearer on the location views of the app. Overnight shifts that end TODAY will be visible under a Yesterday section in your team list on the Location. This should make it easier to view and manage your team.

We’ve fixed bugs and made improvements including:
📍Map enhancements – now guards and locations are grouped in the zoomed out view so you can see a count in different regions. Zoom in to view the location of a specific user. Only active guards (shift is in progress and logged from ReelTrak Worker) are visible on the maps.
🗒️ Post Instructions – We now support web links in our post instructions. Any locations with instructions attached to them will automatically require acknowledgement by the guards after they start their shift.
📸 Images should load faster – We’ve improved how we handle images so they should load faster. There may be some delays in this update as users’ devices update.

✅ Confirmations have been adjusted to be required when a guard claims a start or end time that is significantly different from the expected time.
This should provide more transparency for unusual time logs and allow Supervisors to confirm the reasons and comments provided give enough information for the payroll team. Please work with your team to ensure enough detail is provided in the comment for payroll accuracy.
⚠️ Completed shifts in the Activity tab now show a warning when times deviate from expected.
This update makes it easier to confirm that times were logged correctly and to investigate shifts that were abnormal. Tapping on the shift will open up the shift details and the reasons for the time difference will be visible in the Activity Log. Please work with your team to ensure enough detail is provided in the comment for payroll accuracy.
⏳ Unended Shifts are now grouped in a separate section of the Activity Tab.
Expand the section to see the unended shifts from the last two days. Tap “Load More” to view month to month.
With this new feature, we recommend only adjusting the shifts starting from this current payroll period and beyond. Unended shifts from the past have already been resolved. Please work with your teams to ensure time is logged correctly in ReelTrak Worker and all shifts are ended to prevent payroll issues.

🕚 Edit Time When Logged
Now time can be edited when it is logged. This means that if a user forgot to start their shift, they can adjust the clock to the correct time once they do start. Edits may require Supervisor approval and will be flagged as adjusted in the Confirmations.
📝 Activity Log Now Includes Reasons
If a time is logged as or early or late and requiring additional comment, those details are now visible in the Activity Log of the shift details.

✅ Confirmations Updates
Now all on-time shift actions will be auto-confirmed. Supervisors will still get Confirmations if a guard edits their time beyond a 5min grace period from their original or expected logged time. This will dramatically reduce the amount of Confirmations required...by a lot! This means that the Confirmations that do come through require closer attention as only those with irregularities are flagged. Confirmations should be addressed in a timely manner to prevent payroll issues.
🕐 No more waiting on Guard Confirmations
Now, shift times will send to Guard Tracking as soon as a shift has a start and end time logged and the Supervisor has cleared all confirmations for the shift. This means that guards with pending Confirmations for review will no longer hold up time being sent over. Combined with the Confirmations Updates above, this means that most guard shifts should be reflected in Scheduling as soon as a guard ends their shift.
Please note: if guards do make changes after times have been sent over, they will still require Supervisor confirmation if outside the above mentioned grace period. It is important that guards address all Confirmations in a timely manner to prevent payroll issues.
🍔 Off-duty lunch breaks will now be properly synced
Shifts scheduled with the off-duty meal period option will automatically sync correctly and no longer need to be manually adjusted.
